Happy February as that means we are one day closer to Spring. Unfortunately, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow predicting six more weeks of winter but the staff at Inwood is busy preparing for the coming year.
During the winter, our work consists of…
-Equipment maintenance ie. Oil changes, blade sharpening, etc.
-Inventory all supplies
-Continuing education classes, trade shows
-Work toward Audubon Certification
Along with the winter work by our staff, we have contracted Groundskeeper Tree to remove 65 trees throughout the property. These trees, primarily evergreens, were either declining in health or improperly planted to our future plans at Inwood. Future plans for installing new trees are in process. These removals have also opened areas that were previously shaded which will allow for improved turf quality.Another part of our master plan is to fill in some strategic bunkers around the course converting them back to turf.
These, along with other strategic bunkers will be filled in and we will update you as they happen.
The Inwood Grounds Department looks forward to the coming year and hopes to see you on the course!
